RE: 91 Spider Veloce Oil pressure & Tach errors???

Louis,

I have a '91 as well, and my oil pressure hangs at about 48-50 at speed, and
drops all the way down at idle [it never gets to 57 anymore]. My mechanic
tells me that basically if there is no other symptom of danger, [like the
idiot light or leaks], that as long as it seems to come up and hold when
driving, it is usually okay. [Your mileage may vary.] My car does have
130k miles on it, so if your car is substantially younger, it could be
different for you.

As for the speed in gears, I can help you there, having put the numbers
together to support my evaluation of a finicky tach in my car. Here you go:

gear mph/1000RPM speed@3000RPM speed@3500RPM max speed [6250RPM]
1st 5.31 15.93 18.585 33.1875
2nd 8.81 26.43 30.835 55.0625
3rd 12.99 38.97 45.465 81.1875
4th 17.51 52.53 61.285 109.4375
5th 22.14 66.42 77.49 138.375

Cheers!

Subject: 91 Spider Veloce Oil pressure & Tach errors???

		Hello all,
I've never seen my oil pressure gauge go to 47psi or higher
even with full oil in the car. Does anyone see it higher in your life
time...:o)???? What do I have to do to see it goes pass 47psi and 114psi
even?
My speedometer & tachometer is slow, so I don't know if I
should trust the oil gauge either? The speedometer is slow, but the
tripodometer is correct.
Can anyone tell me at 60mph, what rpm it actually is at 5th
gear (stock)
		@40mph, rpm @ 4th gear, 3rd gear, 2nd gear.
Since I don't have the tachometer machine, so I can't find
out how wrong my tach is.
