Stumbeling Spider-Low Fuel Light

My '85 Graduate must have something in the tank other than gas. When
low on gas, it misses, coughs and stumbles down the road. A fuel
additive seemed to help before, but the symptoms have returned. Any
easy way to drain the tank and clean it out?

Speaking of low fuel level, is there anyway to adjust the level
displayed on the fuel gauge? The low fuel light has come on only a few
times when low on fuel, because there is no reserve when the gauge reads
empty. If the light comes on, you better be within 10 feet of a gas
station.

Thanks.
