Re: Aussie headlamps

Hi all

Sasha is correct Andrew. I had the hard part of the conversion done by
Richard and company at Avanti, as I figured they were less likely to screw
it up than I was. As already said off digest, I went with the Cibie
replacements because I like them, and I liked the look of them on the car
[especially after the Carello ones which had gone off in a big way from the
reflectors corroding].

The old sealed beam Carello lights were delivered to Richard, and the
housings fitted with the Cibie units with real live bulbs that can be
replaced when needed. These then just bolt straight back into the car. I
think this is really a little more straightforward than sourcing replacement
parts from the US but that may suit your needs. I still recommend having an
electrician rewire the lights for maximum voltage at the front as every
little bit helps. Especially when you have 400w lighting up the night sky
ahead and dazzling all those silly kangaroos and koalas that aren't
frightened away by the modified exhaust. :)
