Re: 1994 164LS questions

Good news, Your ignition key is your alarm key!

That's probably the only good news.

Search the alfa digest for discussion of the uniqueness of the 1994
alarm system. There is an Alfa bulletin on how the system works and how
it can be programmed, I will see if I can find my copy.

Do you have your owner's manual with the codes to the alarm system?

As far as the rough idle goes, I have that problem right now. It is
mysterious. My mechanic cured a serious missfire which started out as a
rough idle. The roughness got progressively worse. Compression on one
cylinder bank was off. The cam sprocket had loosened up. Replaced a fuel
injector and seal. New set of spark plugs. Car is much better; but still
a little rough. No longer does the whole car shake. . but there's a
little roughness. Wiring, coils, injectors, and seals have all been
checked. Since I got it back we took it on a 500 mi weekend trip. Gas
mileage on the highway, 20 mpg, down from the 22-23 we had been getting.

Best Wishes,
