116 help

Hello All,

I've purchase a 1975 Alfetta GT, former owner lived in Washington state and performed "performance upgrades"to the car, DCOE's, headers etc. Of course for me here in California it needs to be Spica to be legal (smog). To that end I've begun the transition from carbs to spica. Found a 79' sprint donor vehicle for the stuff I needed. Spica pump, air pump and manifold etc. etc. the 75' had a small oil leak at the rear of the head so I've decided to change the head gasket as well as the induction. Then I thought " what the hell" I've come this far, why not bearings and seals, Compression test showed 115-120 dry and 120-130 wet. Are these numbers any good? or should I be thinking about going deeper? That said, My remaining questions are these:

1) Does the 79' have any components that I would rather use, bigger valves?, higher compression? , better head? etc.

2) Does any one know of a good machine shop near me ( Pasadena Ca.) to have the head decked??

3) Does any one have a preference on parts or vendors for gaskets, seals and the like

4) Does any one have a copy of Jim Kartalamakis' book " How To Power Tune Alfa Romeo Twin-Cam Engines For Road & Track" that they would be willing to part with? Amazon says it's out of print and they don't have one.

I've been enjoying the digest, great bunch of Guys ( and Gals).

Thanks for any help anyone has for me.
