Hot oil

Yesterday there was a thread about oil temperature. Someone commented that 
oil must get to 100 deg C in order to evaporate moisture in the oil. This 
is correct. However, generally oil temp should follow the water temp and 
not be too much above it. While oil may be able to withstand higher 
temperatures, there is a direct relationship between oil temp and bearing 
fatigue life, so its best to keep the oil temp in the low 100 deg C range.
