i think that they did, but transaxle != DeDion. the earlier Alfa six sedan
had a DeDion rear but a conventional transmission & diff as i understand
it. various british cars had DeDion rears with conventional diffs, and it's
my understanding that some of the 4wd versions of the chrysler/dodge
minivan platform had DeDion rears, as that was the easiest way to kludge a
rear diff into a formerly FWD car which had originally had a beam axle in
the rear.
