Yep, they leak eventually and have to be replaced.  Happened on ours.  I 
can't say how difficult it is, but I have it on the very best authority it is 
a lot of work, and you have to move other bits out of the way, and it is 
pretty expensive if you pay someone to do it and at the least time consuming 
if you try yourself.
