Tie Rod and Control Arm Dust Boots

Hi

Does any one have any creative ways to remove a tie rod or a control arm 
without damaging the dust boot (and the rest of it).
I know about the forks made for this job, but I think they will tear the 
boots. Also I think the boots themselves are replaceable. Any one know 
about this?

		There are plenty of ball joint presses on the market that will easily pop
the tie rods or control arm ball joints.  Buy one with a wider opening that
will do most tie rods and ball joints.  Prices start around $25.00.  SD
