Re: E30 on jack stands

Michiel, you can jack up the whole rear of the car by placing a floor jack
(with jack pad or a block of wood) under the differential. I roll mine under
from the right side of the car, and use the wheel well space behind the
rear tire to raise and lower the jack handle. This is a lot faster and safer
than using the factory jack.

In the front, I put my floor jack, with jack pad (I use a block of wood)
under the "frame rail" stamped into the floor behind the front wheel
openings.

As you may have found out, if you set up the factory jack wrong, the top
can pivot into the side of the car, causing a dent.

As far as I am concerned, the factory jack is only suitable for emergency
roadside tire changing, and nothing more.

Just my .02 on the jacking issue.
