brakes

Well... there are a couple of factors that go into braking
performance. Obviously, the contact patch has a lot to do with it --
sticky rubber stops you faster. However, it's a balancing act between
the pads/rotors and the tire. That is, a really sticky tire won't do
much good with wimpy pads/rotors and vice versa.

The upgrade to larger rotors, gas-slotted rotors, better pads, SS
lines, etc. all help braking feel and control. You won't fade as
easily on the track, and the brakes will be easier to control. This
may help you stop faster (because you can get to threshold braking and
hold it easier), but not if your tire isn't up to the job.

Just remember: think SYSTEMS!
