E36 Trans acting funny

In the morning, when first starting my 95 325iC, I put it in reverse and it
does not want to back up without significant pressure on the gas pedal.
After it's warm, reverse seems normal. It does seem to shift a little hard
on the road when accelerating fast too. Anyone have any hints?
