2002 battery location

I am currently getting ready to install a 318i fuel injection in my 1974
2002.Since the batttery has to be mounted in the trunk I need to run a power
cable from the trunk to the engine compartment. Should I run a 2/00 gauge to
avoid a voltage drop or will a 2 gauge be suffice ?
