Empire Motor Sports Club

Introduction

The Empire Motor Sports Club is based in the Capital District of New York (Albany/Schenectady/Troy.) Founded over 40 years ago, EMSC has spent many years providing a venue for amateur motorsports activity in the area, specializing in Autocross and Road Rally (both TSD and Gimmick.) In recent years, EMSC has also co-sponsored a High Performance Driving School at Lime Rock Park in CT.

EMSC is presently rebuilding from a soft period, as some dedicated, long term members and a couple of enthusiastic newcomers work to help build the club programs back up. If you live nearby, and are interested safe, fun, inexpensive Motorsport activities, come join us and help out!

Rope & Jack

The Rope and Jack is the official publication of the Empire Motor Sports Club. Beginning with the first issue of 1996, we are experimenting with an electronic edition. Click here to go to the Rope and Jack page.

Autocross in EMSC

EMSC presently puts on two autocrosses a year, both at the Peripheral Lot in Albany next to the State Office Campus, sanctioned by the Mohawk-Hudson Region of the SCCA, and run under SCCA Solo II rules.

Road Rally in EMSC

Presently in a dry spell, efforts are going to be made to start rebuilding the program in 1996. EMSC will be putting on the TSD Road Rally for the 1996 Vintage Triumph Register National Convention in Albany. Click here for the latest news.

Driver School

For some years now, Empire has offered a Performance Driving School each September at Lime Rock Park. We may be taking a year off in 1996, though. Click here for the latest news.

Membership in EMSC

Membership in EMSC is $10 for the first year of membership, and $15 for subsequent years. Family membership is $20 and student memberships are $10/year for up to 4 years.

Membership Meetings

Meetings are presently held on the third Wednesday of each month (except August and January) at Holmes & Watsons, on Broadway in Troy. Meetings start at about 8pm; all are welcome. Typically, a room will be reserved upstairs.

Annual Banquet

Each January, Empire holds an annual banquet. For information on the 1996 Banquet, click here.
