Actually, one of my grandfather's old tricks would work much better.. a 2x4
is a fixed length, and it could get bounced out of it's fixed position (they
really only work OK when the truck is NOT moving..)

Grab a piece of BUNGEE CORD (or, in my Grandfather's prime, some old rubber
tires or whatever he used.. even if they *had* bungees, he would've used an
old ruined tire before he *bought* a bungee cord) and wrap it around the
shifter lever, hook each end of the bungee to the dash (or, in 4-hi, to the
seat base) to keep a little pressure on the lever.

Of course, I've also heard bad things about wearing out syncros on a tranny
and such by doing this.. so what would happen to the transfer case? (NOTE,
I haven't done this yet.. but I *did* just buy a big box of bungees...)
