Light bulbs and the mysterious number games...

     Digesters,

(Noun(s) 1), Those that digest, 2) An implement designed for
the process of digestion, 3) A union of fanatics, obsessed with
the restoration and constant maintenance of over built, under
appreciated, vehicles from International Harvester Corporation of
the early 1900s to the late 1970s)

With regard to light bulbs, I remember discussing with a few
members of my local scout club the possibility that the
instrument lights I have are too bright. Does someone, anyone,
anywhere have any clear concept as to the diffreneces in light
bulbs available from the local parts stores? I know there there
are 89, and 194 or somesuch, and these are the ones prescribed
for dash/instruments, and turn signals/marker lights. Now, which
one(s) do we use. It seems that my light leakage and
bleedthrough is a result of poor baffling (are you baffled) in
the speedo. Is it also contributory that the bulbs are too
     bright?

        Any pearls are appreciated.
