Re: Front axle U-joints.. fun



Tom,

I just spent last Sat doing U-joints on both my driveshafts.  I had them
apart and together several times, and ruined at least one new u-joint.  I
had one that had one stiff side.  I took it out and reassembled it and it
was ok.  I think that I didn't have one of the caps in straight.  Doesn't
seem possible but I think that was it.

I had one that seemed notchy.  When I took that apart I could see where
the central shaft had been scratched by the needles when I hammered it
together.  You have to be careful at this point and make sure it is lined
up before driving it together.
