Re: Gas Gage

---Might try an entire tank from a donor Scout in the junk yard. FWIW, I
have three Scout II tanks here and I know one is different than the tank on
my Scout II. The sending unit is different and all. I would hate to hear
that you waited 3-5 days for the part to come in and then had to wait
another 3-5 for the correct part (which you ordered to begin with) to come
in. LOL, not gonna say what Auto Parts store has a habit of doing things
like that. But if I say, "tell them what part you want and they order the
part they think you need" would you be able to guess?... anywhose, a gas
tank from the junk yard might prove to be a better source. May need some
cleaning up, but it would be hard to find one that is falling apart. Also,
you might find one that has tell-tale signs of recent repair. New J-bolts
might lead you to believe it has a new sending unit and/or tank. FWIW, If
you are as crusty and old a codger as you think, I am sure you can find a
youngster to prowl the bone-yards with you. Some kids these days not only
enjoy helping out, but actually enjoy walking through the junk yard and
looking at old vehicles from days gone by. As for me, I would go along just
to hear the tales that go with the vehicles.

---Also, check www.thriftynickelads.com (might be known as the penny saver
in your area, but it covers 70% of the US on the site). When you get there,
in the drop-down box, select the first city in your state, then when the new
page loads, check the box that says search surrounding areas. You might even
find a parts Scout for a few dollars more than a new sending unit.
