[ihc] Re:Re: Parking brake cable lubing, Robertshaw stats....and eating crow

OK, after reading the posts on Stant vs. Robertshaw, and racking my
(apparently) alzheimer's ridden brain, I have crow to eat. What I recalled,
and dug up and found just now, is a Stant catalog from 1984. In it, Stant has
two lines of thermostats- the familiar 'Stant Reverse Poppet Thermostat', and
a 'Stant Balanced Sleeve Thermostat'. This second one IS a Robertshaw- up to
and including the part numbers, which differ from the Robertshaw number only
by the addition of an 'S' at the beginning of the number. I guess the question
is, how did Stant end up with the Robertshaw, up to and including the part
number? Anyhow, I was wrong on what I posted, and Steve is right- I do recall
finding that RS is now part of the Cooper company (as in Cooper tires). Hope
this didn't just confuse the issue more!
Dennis
