re: Why you should not use solder on O2 sensor wire

Griots' has REAL life time warrant and customer support.
They have won my business just because of that.
Their price is not high and their similar products
with other always include the complete set you don't
need to busy accessories later. Be very careful
on cheap and dishonest mail order business out there.

I will not let my synthetic oil sit for longer than
7500 mileage( around 150 engine hours in my 164 flyer )
in a healthy engine without oil analysis to back it up.
Some bad engines with a lot blow-by can wash out synthetic
oil in as little as 500 miles ! In those engines, use cheap
oil and keep change it until rebuild is the way to go.
Do not rely on mileage as maintenance indicator. There are
two enemies in engine protection, one is physical wear caused
mostly by particles between 1 to 5 micros or oil break down.
The other is little known called chemical wear, this one is
even more nasty than physical wear. The oil that turn acid
can grid down metal parts really fast !
That's why I would not use those teflon and prolong
stuffs ( also called as-seen-on-TV, I can't afford
watching TV so I was not affected by it ).

The big by-pass filter that filter particles down to 0.1 micro
and also trap water and other stuffs is how I can keep
oil clean and active chemical healthy after 65,000 miles.
It is no magic. After 8000 miles of driving, the huge filter
is almost clogged up ! And boy, I know what clogged up a
filter as big as this sucker, I wouldn't want those stuffs flowing
around in my engine. But It is GREAT for entire economy have
those harmful stuffs flowing around in other people's engines.
Most people want a new car in a few years any way, who want
to be stuck with the same car for the rest of their life.
It already miserable enough trying to force them to stick
with the same spouse for the rest of their life and not working.
It will also keep people working hard and stay out of trouble
and keep dreaming about retirement.
Otherwise the entire auto industry have to take vacation for
at least 10 years from now. Just think of what kind of crime
and stupid things peoples can do when they are not working
gives me shudders.

This by-pass filter should be banned IMHO.
