See, now, if I'd done my homework I'd have KNOWN that!
:-)

Including at least one new Alfa owner and digest
member (good timing, eh, Jeffrey?). The coincidence
was not lost on me.

And actually, I'm one of those very people -- in fact,
I've already confessed my "ulterior motive" in
offering to put all this information together: I want
to learn from OTHER people's trial and error before I
set out, checkbook in hand, to tweak my Spider. Sure,
I COULD buy four or five different sets of camshafts
and try them one by one till I found the ones that
worked best, but I'd rather buy just the right set to
begin with, and spend the other money on, oh, springs
and shocks -- where I'd like to make the same smart
purchase, getting the ones that work best in my
application.

It's good to keep this project in focus, George, and
thanks. I still think the final product needs a
"soul-searching" section at the beginning, asking what
the reader WANTS out of the end product -- a
competitive racing car in a given class, a fun car for
club tours and the occasional track day, a hot street
car for surprising SUVs with the occasional hole-shot
when the light changes, or other things I'm probably
not thinking of.

Lord, I hope so. Even if it means adding a section on
aeronautical uses for Alfa boxers. :-)
