Buying 850i?

Hey guys,
  I am a Porsche guy at heart, but today while house hunting in Orlando
(anyone have a house for rent??) we stumbled upon a dealship (Elite
Motorcars I think..) with two 8 series cars.

One, a 91 850i with 75k miles - asking $23k
Two, a 94 840i (or il) with 40k miles - asking $36k

We probably WONT even consider the 8 cly.  Just because the V12 felt much
smoother - but..
What should we look for in the 850i?  It is an auto - did they make a 6
speed?  How much should we pay?  It is in good condition, a couple
dings/scratches here and there.  The running board on passenger side is
loose - like those 6 or so bolts have been TAKEN out.. they running drugs
under there or what?
What common problems should we look for?  What is a CSi?  What do those run
for?  Do they still make these cars?  How much is maintence? How many did
they import?
